Salman-KhurshidIndian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid will visit Afghanistan next week talks with President Hamid Karzai and visiting Delhi-funded projects in the war-torn country, a report said on Thursday.

During the visit, he will review progress in execution of major Indian infrastructure projects, including parliament building in Kabul, Salma dam in Herat and an agricultural university in Kandahar.
According to The Times of India, the visiting minister will discuss with Karzai issues, including the Kabul-Washington impasse over the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) and secret talks with the Taliban.

“India has shown understanding of Karzai's position in not signing the agreement, even though it doesn't want US troops to withdraw completely, and has refrained from putting any pressure on the president,” it added.
The parliament building is expected to be completed and handed over to Afghan authorities by the end of 2014.  The minister will also review progress on the Salma dam project, which may be completed in early 2015.
