President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Saturday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province in Pakistan.
At least 21 people were killed and 50 others injured during a gun and bomb attack at an Imambargah in Peshawar's Hayatabad area when suicide attackers and gunmen--- dressed in police uniforms--- attacked worshippers offering Friday prayers.
“The killing of innocent people, including women and children, is an un-Islamic and inhuman act which is never justifiable,” a statement from the Presidential Palace quoted Ghani as saying.
The president stressed the need for serious action against the scourge of terrorism that was a common threat for the region, world and Afghanistan and Pakistan in particular. He offered condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families of this incident.
