Workshop held on women’s role in development of mines

momA didactic workshop on the role of women in development of mines was held at the conference hall of AGS.

It was attended by the Acting Director of Human Resources of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) Mohammad Shafiq Zamani, Gender Manager Khadija Kazimi, Training Manager of Independent Commission of Human Rights Baz Mohammad Amozgar, and staff members of MoMP.

This one day workshop was inaugurated by the recitation of some verses of the Holy Quran, then Mr. Zamani gave appreciation to the Gender Department for running such workshops with the cooperation of MIDAS, and said: MoMP is an authority that is interested in the development of the abilities of women and wants to improve the knowledge level of women in all sections, especially in mining activities.

Mr. Amozgar gave a presentation on: the location of women in culture and society, concepts and resources of development, the development of mines, barriers to the woman's presence in the development of mines, and work opportunities for displaced people.

A work group session was conducted at the end of the workshop and its positive results assessed by the trainer.
