Armed Insurgents Suffer Heavy Casualties in Afghan Forces Joint Raids


anp-special-forces-2In past 24 hours, Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan.

The operations were conducted in Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Jowzjan, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Paktiya, Paktika, Khost, Kandahar and Helmand provinces, as a result 96 armed insurgents were killed, 61 wounded and four others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.

Armed insurgents suffered the heaviest casualty in Khost and Ghazni provinces.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Security Forces discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition.

During the same 24 hour period, Afghan National Police discovered and defused 28 different types of IEDs placed by enemies of Afghanistan for destructive activities in Kabul, Ghazni, Helmand and Nimroz provinces.

Afghan National Police are working diligently with local leaders and the public to prevent these types of acts from killing and wounding innocent civilians and security forces.
