Afghanistan Ready For AFC Under-16 Championship Qualifiers

cricket-u-19-team-return-homeThe U-16 national football team left Kabul early Monday in high spirits for the AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers in Kuwait and said they felt "well prepared".


In their first match, the U-16 football team will face host Kuwait on Wednesday. In total 11 groups will participate, with four teams in each group. The tournament is the first step for the teams towards the 2016 AFC Under-16 Championships, which will then be followed by the U-17 World Cup in 2017.
The national football team players have said that although the Asian competition has a very high standard, "we are well prepared".
"These matches will be of a high standard and all the teams are powerful but we also had trainings with the technical staff and we hope to play well," the Afghan squad captain Nasir Amini said.

Ali Reza Muradi, a member of the team said that "we have good preparations and we hope to move up in our group".
The national football team will face Kuwait, Syria and Sri Lanka in Group F of the competition.
