As part of the ongoing series of implementation of development projects through the National Unity Government, once again the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development could manage to complete and hand over 908 uplift projects of the National Solidarity Program (NSP) in various districts of Kabul province.
The construction work for the above-mentioned completed projects was commenced two years back. Out of these projects two of them were inaugurated today by H.E. Eng. Nasir Ahmad Durrani-the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.
The projects have been completed through the National Solidarity Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (NSP/MRRD) at a total sum of AFN 1,322,185,853. The communities have also given contribution towards the finalization of these projects. Out of aforementioned total amount 1,197,647,493 Afs have been disbursed by the NSP and 124,538,360 Afs through the local people.
The projects have been completed in the sectors of transportation, water supply, hygiene, education, livelihood and irrigation. The Community Development Councils (CDCs) of 786 villages have played key role in the implementation of these projects.
Approximately, 1,255,926 local people (179,418 households) have benefited the facilities of these development projects. Also, 793,303 residents were provided with short-term employment opportunities during the progress of the projects.
The projects include: construction of retaining walls, rural roads, road side streams, water supply networks, excavation of safe drinking water wells, construction of water reservoirs, schools, social centers, pathways, bridges and culverts.
It is worth mentioning that the projects have been completed in fourteen districts of Kabul province including Mir Bacha Kot, Kalakan, Qarabagh, Istalif, Dehsabz, Chahar Asyab, Mussahi, Surobi, Farza, Paghman, Shakardara, Guldara, Khaki Jabbar, and Bagrami.
