Realization of MRRD’s Second 100-day Action Plan

Based on its second 100-day action plan the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) could manage to implement 2855 public utility projects in the spheres of safe drinking water, irrigation, electricity, community development, health, livelihood and education.

Similarly, the MRRD has been able to complete rural roads 187 meters in length and bridges 245 meters in length in the transportation section. The total budget of the projects under second 100-day action plan reaches to USD 93 million and 187 thousand. Also, about 650 thousand work days have been created during the progress of these development projects.Fortunately, the second 100-day action plan of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has been realized more than 100 per cent. The total development budget allocated for the MRRD in 1394 fiscal year was USD 366 million, of which USD 292 million has been disbursed. As a matter of fact, the MRRD has been able to spent 80% of its development budget this year.During 1394 fiscal year, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has signed the contracts of 6334 uplift projects in the sectors of safe drinking water, irrigation, technical studies, community development, electricity, transportation, education, public buildings, health and livelihood, worth of USD 144 million and 32 thousand.At the same time, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has completed and handed-over 13,800 projects across the country during 1394 fiscal year.Likewise, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has officially launched the first phase of maintenance and protection project of the National Solidarity Program under the auspices of National Employment Program for Peace. The first phase of maintenance and protection project is being implemented across 3734 villages of 46 districts in the provinces of Baghlan, Balkh, Farah, Faryab, Herat, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Khost, Kunar, Kunduz and Laghman worth of USD 35 million (more than two billion Afs).The first phase of this project would create 5.25 million labour days. Around 235,242 villagers would get short -term job opportunity in the rural areas of aforementioned 12 provinces. It is worth mentioning that upon the completion of this project thousands of destroyed projects would be rehabilitated.
