Agriculture Development Fund (ADF) will give more than $6 million USD in loans to Afghan farmers in different province.
Officials at the ADF said that more than 3,000 farmers will receive loans in Herat, Nangarhar, Kabul and Balkh provinces."The funds that we provided to them - to the smaller farmers in our community - is just the means and ways in which the ADF is going to get to the little farmers," said ADF chief, Joel O. Carter."This amount, which will be given in loans to farmers, will help in improving agriculture and increasing imports of the country and we are trying to provide technical and financial support to farmers in different areas," said the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Assadullah Zamir.The ADF is considered as one the main organizations that provides loans to farmers. The organization is said to have given more than Afs4.4 billion in loans to 35,000 farmers in 33 provinces of the country over the past six years.
