Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E Salahuddin Rabbani met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey H.E Mevlut Cavusoglu in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon.
At the outset, Mr. Rabbani welcomed Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey and his delegation to Kabul, while recalling the friendship and profound religious, historical and cultural relations between the two countries, thanked for the friendly and brotherly country the Republic of Turkey’s cooperation with Afghanistan especially in providing security, peace and stability, economic development, capacity building and granting scholarships to Afghan youths.
Referring to the experience and offer of the Republic of Turkey in the field water resource management, Foreign Minister of Afghanistan asked for the training of Afghan government Cadres in the mentioned field.
Afterwards, while expressing happiness for meeting with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey stated, as friendly and brotherly country, the peace, security and stability of Afghanistan is important for Turkey, also keep in mind that peace and stability of Afghanistan is in the interest of peace and stability of the region and Turkey is committed to continued its cooperation in this regards, until the need can be felt for it.
H.E Cavusoglu added that Turkey has supported the extension of NATO Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan until 2017 and thereafter, also they will announce its contribution of financial support to national defense and security forces of Afghanistan by 2020 in Warsaw conference.
In this meeting, both sides talked and exchange views on Afghanistan and turkey cooperation in the field of economy, investment, transit trade, Azure route project, Istanbul process, cooperation between ministries of the two countries, cooperation in the field of training and higher education, establishment of Mawland Jalal al-Din Muhammad Blkhi university in Kabul by the Republic of Turkey, the opening of Turkish consulate general in Kandahar and Herat cities.
