Newly-appointed Ambassador of Germany to Kabul Pays Courtesy Call to Deputy Foreign Minister


Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hekmat Khalil Karzai received newly-appointed ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kabul Mr. Walter Hassman for courtesy call this morning

. At the outset, Deputy Foreign Minister talked on the current political and security situation of the country, Afghan government endeavors for peace and developments to this end and preparations of National Unity Government for successful holding of Brussels Conference. Mr. Karzai recalled the history of good bilateral relations between Afghanistan and the Federal Republic of Germany and thanked Germany for its cooperation in the military, political and economic areas with Afghanistan in the last one and half decade especially the recent efforts of Germany for successful holding of Brussels Conference. He also added, the expectation of Afghanistan is that all its international partners will actively participate in the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan.

Subsequently, Germany’s newly-appointed ambassador to Kabul assured the Deputy Minister of his country’s continued support for Afghanistan and emphasized that Germany will spare no efforts in making Brussels Conference successful and considers to continue its cooperation with Afghanistan at the current level in the future.
