Presidential decree benefits 18 female inmates

prisonTwo women prisoners were released while jail terms of 16 other female inmates were reduced from Badam Bagh prison of the central capital Kabul on Monday following a presidential decree, an official said.

An official at the Attorney General Office (AGO), Captain Aziz Ahmad Sarbaz, while addressing a news conference said the decree was announced by the president on the occasion of birthday celebration of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The inmates who were imprisoned for 20 years, their jail period had been reduced to one and half year, the period of prisoners charged with 10 years was reduced to one year while the term of inmates charged for five years reduced to six months, he said.

All the prisoners would get benefit from the decree and no one would be deprived.
