The explosive vest of a suicide bomber went off before he could reach his target in southern Kandahar province on Sunday morning, an official said.
The botched terrorist bid took place in the provincial capital at around 7:00am, the governor’s acting spokesman, Dawa Khan Minapal, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He added a suicide bomber, who was trying to attack an intelligence compound, entered the Afghan-Turk High School but was positively identified by security personnel.
Later, the bomber detonated his explosives in a street near the school, according to Minapal. Nobody was hurt in the blast. Taliban are yet to comment on the incident
