The thirty sub projects completed in various villages of Jan-I-Khel district of Paktika province will enable approximately 3,238 rural families to have access to basic services.
These projects include: repairing and gravelling of 17-km rural roads, construction of 36 culverts, installation of hand pumps on 96 safe drinking water wells and concreting of pathways 1700 meters in length. As per the developmental plan of the MRRD, at a sum of 56 million Afs, 55 public utility projects will be completed in upcoming year in Paktika and the National Solidarity Program will commence activities across 11 districts of above-mentioned province.
The projects have been completed through the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) at a cost of AFN 35 million and 900 thousand.
At the same time, the National Rural Access Program (NRAP) of the MRRD recently opened the construction work of a seven kilometers long rural road in Paktika province, worth of AFN 11 million and 700 thousand. This project will be completed in a period of eight months. Transportation facilities will be provided to the local residents upon the completion of this project.
